The SSAT and ISEE are common entrance exams given to students entering private schools.

The SSAT is very similar to the SAT, except it is given to younger students. It has two levels, a lower level designed for students in 5 th to 7 th grades, and a higher level for students in 8 th to 11 th grades. Like the SAT, both levels have multiple choice math, multiple choice passage reading, and an essay. Unlike the SAT, the essays are not graded, they are merely sent to the schools you apply for. Another difference between the SSAT and the SAT is that the SSAT includes analogies (Bear is to Forest as …) and synonyms.

The ISEE follows the same general format as the SSAT, except for its inclusion of a special sort of math problem, the quantitative comparison. In quantitative comparison questions, two sets of data are compared to each other, and the student must identify whether one is greater or lesser, both are the same, or there is no way to tell.

Does all this sound like quite a lot to ask of a young student? That’s because it is. These tests were designed to fail as many students as possible, but with the help of PRO Tutoring, you can beat the odds!

We can guarantee that students reach their goal scores in nearly all cases. Call 678-594-0044 today to schedule a FREE practice test.
